Next Generation Structures
Equipment for Teaching Basic Structural Principles
The Next Generation structures range consists of teaching equipment for understanding basic structural principles focusing on beams, bridges and cantilevers for students of mechanical, civil and structural engineering.
The USB interface hub, included with the Structures Platform (STS1) means this entire range of 21 experiments has VDAS Onboard, and directly connects to a computer running VDAS software that is available to download free here.

Featured Products
DefleX-2D
An entry-level digital image correlation (DIC) system to teach students how to measure and visualise surface deformations, strains and displacements in materials and shapes.
Coming Soon - DefleX-3D
With DefleX®-3D, students can measure and visualise full-field, three-dimensional, varied strain analysis and motion measurements on materials.
Structures Course Books
Enhancing students’ learning and understanding of basic structural principles focusing on beams, bridges and cantilevers, these free course books provide real life examples and theories and run through the experimental set-up, procedures, and analysis.
Shear Force in a Beam (Next Generation Structures)
Experiment that illustrates and proves the basic theory of shear force in a beam. Mounts on the Structures platform and connects to the Structures automatic data acquisition unit and software (VDAS® Onboard).
