Subsonic Wind Tunnels
BENCH-TOP WIND TUNNEL
An ultra-compact, open-circuit, benchtop subsonic wind tunnel that offers a complete system ready for aerodynamic experimentation, suitable for college use, undergraduate study and research projects.
SUBSONIC WIND TUNNEL 305 mm
A starter set consisting of the Subsonic Wind Tunnel 305 mm (AF1300), Basic Lift and Drag Balance (AF1300z) and a set of Three-Dimensional Drag Models (AF1300j).
SUBSONIC WIND TUNNEL 450mm
A sizable open circuit, suction subsonic wind tunnel with a working section of 450 mm by 450 mm and 1000 mm length. It provides a cost-effective balance between being able to carry out advanced aerodynamics study, while having a smaller footprint than the largest of TecQuipment’s wind tunnels.
WINGLETS AND END PLATES
A pair of two wings, one incorporating a raked winglet, enabling students to explore three dimensional wing theory.
AEROFOIL WITH TAPPINGS
Allows students to investigate the pressure distribution around a two-dimensional NACA aerofoil that has 12 tapping points along the chord.
FLOW VISUALISATION
Allows students to ‘see’ the air flows around various shapes by using smoke fi laments. The shapes are viewed through a transparent window.
THREE COMPONENT BALANCE
Supports wind tunnel models in the AF1600 Subsonic Wind Tunnel and measures their lift, drag and pitching moment.
COANDĂ EFFECT AND JET FLOW
Allows students to investigate the Coandă effect and a fluidic flip-flop (fluidics).
FLOW ROUND A BEND
Allows students to measure the pressure distribution in a smooth rectangular bend via tapping points on the curved walls and radius.
S1210 AEROFOIL MODEL
An S1210 profile aerofoil of use with the AF1450 Subsonic Wind Tunnel.
THREE DIMENSIONAL DRAG MODELS
Five drag investigation models for use with the TecQuipment AF1450 wind tunnel.
